What happens to the pictures published online? We can’t retrace who sees and uses our personal pictures. Our face, once it’s online, doesn't belong to us anymore.
In today’s digital world, our online photos often lose their personal touch. Inspired by the modern selfie—a new take on traditional portraits—I created a custom database that harvests Instagram’s #selfie images without users’ knowledge. Much like datasets for computer vision, these images lose their individual identity and serve a purely technical purpose.
